Very cool map! This board has a lot of great features, including a visually stunning and well-drawn map, unique attack and defense strategy, a large number of territories, and hordes-style bonus armies. I'll be playing this one again

Nice concept, but I didn't like the game play, maybe due to the fact that each territory is connected to so many other territories.

It took me almost a year to give this board a try, but I'm loving it! I have figured out how to play team games on this board, and also how to play 3 player games, but the strategy changes quite a bit when you go from 3 to 4 players, and I don't know yet how to consistently win on those. I guess I'll need to keep playing and reviewing game histories to figure it out

Fantastic concept and design! If I were to change one thing it would be to make it a bigger map to have more strategy options, but then it wouldn't be the same, would it? It does need more clarity with the borders, which are only clear when not using the player. Fun multi-player board.

The first hordes map I played, and a fun one to play with a large number of players, specially with high or total fog

Takes me back to paper games I used to play as a kid, but I didn't enjoy it too much, not much room to recover if you had a bad start

I may rate this board higher if I play it more, but for now I'll leave it at 8.0. I love me these big boards, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as I was hoping for. Maybe if I win a game I'll like it more, or maybe I just haven't figured out the right strategy to enjoy the game. In any case, give it a try, I plan to do so again soon

I really suck at this board, partly because I am a very offensive-minded player. However, I admit this board can be fun to play, and in some ways reminds me of Seven (or Seven Redux), one of my favorite boards on WGW. Positioning is important, you have to be very strategic about when and how to expand your territories, and how to lay out a strong defensive position. As you expand you lose placement armies (what a concept!), which may be counteracted somewhat by controlling continents. For a relatively small board, there are many ways you can win (or in my case, many ways you can lose!)

It's harder to play this board if you are a standard member, since the win depends on number of territories controlled, so you may need to do a lot of finger and toe-counting (you'll need to borrow a friend, unless you were born with more than 20 digits) to see where your opponent is compared to you. However, the first tourney on this board was won by a standard member (Yclee0206), against mostly highly skilled premium members, so your membership level is not necessarily determinant, it just makes it easier to play it if you have premium.

Great work Kjeld on a very original concept!

Great strategy game, you need to plan out your moves with a lot of thought, and to keep in mind that there are only a few of spots on the board that don't defend with negative dice. I like the team games as well, as long as the number of players is not too high

I'm liking this board more than I thought I would. I initially didn't jive with the layout, but it does make for an interesting gameplay, with a few choke-points and a unique strategy. I don't care much for the player colors, some alternative options would be helpful. Fun game for 3 players

I'm enjoying this team game, it has a neat layout, many territories and a number of potential strategies for attack. Of course, the rope is the deciding factor, and even a team that is losing on the main board can score a surprise victory with a surprise rope attack

Hordes of Africa rated  Good
This is a unique board, though I wouldn't mind if it had more territories. The limited number of attacks gives more weight to using the A and T attack buttons, and fortification during attack also allows you to take full advantage of those 10 attacks. I've only played it with 3 players, and it does allow for an interesting game, but it's not one of my favorite boards

Very straightforward board, easy to play, but not so easy to master.

At the start, the race is on to be the first to conquer one of the 3 dimensions. If you're the first to do so, you will have a good shot at conquering the whole universe by attacking other dimensions through the 3 portals that connect them to each other. In order to conquer a dimension, you need to figure out what sized continent you will go for first, and that will depend on your initial setup.

Fun board, enjoying my games on it!

I was intimidated by this board for over a year, and I decided with the new year that it was past time to give it a try. I have to say I'm really enjoying it, there are a lot of layers of complexity that make for an interesting game. I know I'll continue learning how it works for a bunch of games before I feel comfortable with it and expand my review. There was a lot of thoughtfulness put into creating this board, good job Ozy!

Really interesting layout. I like the two person duel more, but that's just cause I'm not as good on the 4 person game. Overall, it's a great concept, I just haven't enjoyed it as much as other boards I play

Although I initially thought the board was pretty balanced for 2 players, the stats prove otherwise, first player usually has an advantage. Still, it's a fun board, every game is a different challenge.

My traditional aggressive approach does not seem to work well for this map, as Yertle says below, you have to know when to strike and where to do so. Cool layout, and good map to play in teams, just not one of my favorites.

Capital Crusade rated  Perfect
Beautiful board layout and interesting gameplay. As a capitals game, your capital is your lifeline, lose it, and you're out. If you have to capture one first, it is not to your advantage to wait too long, since you are at a disadvantage with vision and bonuses. Attacks from capitals give a strong dice advantage (and a strong defensive advantage as well), so take into account when developing an attack. Capital to capital artillery attack can be effective (no dice advantage, but better than negative dice), but only if you have a way to conquer the other capital by ground. One of my favorite boards!

As with any large board, I like it better with medium to total fog. Any less and you're likely to have a stalemate or at the minimum players ganging up on the strongest player. But that will happen in CC or other large board, it's not limited to this one.

I think this board is well designed, visually and regarding bonuses, it's fun to play.

This board has a unique game play, but I'd enjoy it more if it had twice as many territories.
